Great read in bucks hearld about Steve bstemen and his plans for Afc , he seems to have a lot of confidence in his own ability which is great to hear as the confidence will filter down to players , seems like he's got his idea who he wants to keep and bring in ,

Thanks Wally for everything , hope to see you down Afc as a spectator ,

Batemen not sure what to do with falconbridge personally I would keep him in playing squad , he's useful coming off the bench and his experience would be useful for the younger players in first team,

Hopefully back to winning ways Saturday ,
COME ON YOU MOLES

I think was a very good interview and shows to all he's ready to make any changes necessary to get the club back to winning ways.
Get all the players working for their place and I reckon be back to getting 3 points a game.
Come on boys we can get there and good luck

Would say falco would be quite relaxced about playing for Steve..didn't seem to be put out when.he resigned and wally with Fraser took over the reigns.

Exactly falco would be under no pressure , so might be able to get best out of him ,

It's a weird dynamic for the other players though and probably for Craig himself seeing as he would usually lead a HT team talk (I imagine) but now may feel as though he has to hold back as doesn't want to seem like treading on Steve's toes. If he still has something to offer the squad once Steve has some more players in then you'd like to think he'll keep him on but I personally wouldn't be surprised if he moved Craig on just to avoid the potential agro

Yeah I reckon your right about Craig being let go but I still do think he could offer something ,

Unless falco want to start playing again, he will go at least end of season. But he does offer something up top, as could be our target man to hold things up until support arrive

Tell you what reckon Craig would be chuffed if he saw that some of the fans on here still want him to stay on. You're right he clearly wants to keep playing otherwise wouldn't have picked himself or made himself available for others and now I think about it as he's doing the youth set up he can only really play at Aylesbury can't he? Maybe they'll keep him on for those reasons..

I doubt Craig even gets paid for playing for the club , so that shows u that he genuinely love the club, I really do believe Afc will start to move forward on the pitch now once batemen gets the squad he wants

It's going to take time to get new players in and then settle them in, the boss needs to see what they are capable of, existing players to fit into his way of working etc. There are players the boss might want but FC can't afford. In the meantime there are going to matches to be played. We need to realise that when we turn up on Saturday, there ain't going to be 11 new blokes all playing like Brazil.

Mr Ron

Hi guys good points jools, here are my words of wisdom
SB should politely tell CF his services as playing member are no longer required and thank him, this is a fresh start and it is not good to have ex manager playing with players who he liked who they liked who he didn't like and who they didn't like him by occupying a bench seat he could be stopping a young player getting match day experience or even a bit of game time.

craig has been one of the handfull who has put in any type of effort on the pitch in these recent dark weeks.

he even came along as a supporter whilst not in the squad last saturday against beconsfield.

that comittment he has to the team cant just be dismissed.

i get your logic though mr ron, in theory the worry is that a new manager might have to contend with influence of the old one. but i think craigs commitment and attitude are too valuable. plus i do not doubt for a minute that craig also has the attitude to be just a team player from now on either.

I guess Steve would have met Craig and had a chat with him to hear what he has to say..if he feels he might be an issue to keep him in the fold he will say goodbye and thsnksetc .if not look and see what he has to offer .if he feels he needs him in the squad he will stay..

We don't usually fill the bench anyway so doubt CF will take a young players position on it unless SB thought he'd prefer CF, knowing that there are youth available, for the good of the match day squad. And if it transpired (as suggested earlier) that CF wasn't paid for playing then we wouldn't be paying him a wage to bench either so would be a free addition, therefore not affecting the budget and whether not we could afford a youth player to bench in addition.

Understand if what you were getting as was that CF could be picked ahead of a younger player to come on from the bench and therefore stop the youth getting minutes, but he'd still get the match day experience you mentioned of being in and around the senior set up.
