Great performance today , every player put a shift in for the team, made st Ives look very average ,

Play like that for rest of season Pls ,

Wadkins was outstanding today

Phil22

Everyone played well and deserves a pat on the back.

More games like that pls

Big debate in the seats about who should be Man of the Match, James Weatherill made three great saves in the first 20 minute and Lamar was also a very big threat. French put in his shift but I agree that Wadkins was immense.

As a matter of interest did anyone think that Gareth's goal (2nd ) had just a passing resemblance to his goal on Bank Holiday against the Ducks?

Will afc

I thought Gareth was back to his usual self today, making him self a nuisance , price was a constant threat today and long may that continue , the lads certainly got goals in him ,

FC report should be up on line quite soon.

Ha ha ha they gave barney (their keeper) man of the match  Laughing what was the score?  Laughing

Absolutely over the moon with today's result, I think this new look team looks fantastic.

I do think st Ives helped us a bit, they were flat and their players were very quick to get angry, but none the less we were great tonight overall.

To make things even better Mr Bateman came over when we were having a pint afterwards, (and despite the fact he simply refuses to wave when sing at him  Laughing ) he was really happy to chat to us and let us know how committed he is to turning us into a winning team.  He also mentioned he worked with Gareth price years ago, so knows him already, which surely must have something to do with Gareth's burst back into form.

Great afternoon, brilliant.  cheers

Should mention their fans are a great bunch, some of them very drunk, and all took the banter well, unlike a load of the players who very easily wound up. Wish them absolutely the best of luck for the season, especially next weekend  Razz

Well said Scott, it was great to chat with Steve after the game & get his opinion of today's match.
Onwards and upwards....!

I think that they lost their temper very quickly due to the annoying yet brilliant drummer boys ahah Wink incredible game today! Incredibly impressed with the boys today, outstanded by Wadkins, price, goss, Simpson, Bateman, French and weather hill today! Really thought that meallor was a close contender for man of the match with a very strong performance filling in at left back! Very excited for the rest of the season! Just one request, please mr Bateman just give us boys a wave behind the goal when we ask for one Wink

Good to see the Moles have won,at long last.

How did Simon Sweeney play today? Did you line up 4-4-2 with Sweens at right back?

No Adam Logie or Sean Sonner or Ben Stevens either. Hope you've turned the corner.

mikefarquharson

mikefarquharson

Ben injured, Sonner shoulder injury and I think Logie had wk commitments

Will afc

Sweeney I thought was solid at right back , can pick out a decent pass Aswell , like the fact he's not afraid to get stuck in

Glad batemen spoke to fans in bar after match , long may we have a successful time with him in the helm
He certainly is bringing out the best in Gareth ,

Phil22

Everyone looked sharp today and more importantly wanted the ball all the time. Watkins was solid and everywhere but was weather hill made some quality saves. Overall everyone played well

Very pleased with that, they had some chances though, good job we've got super James Weatherill, in the form he's in I can't see Warro getting a start for some time! I though Goss, Price and Simpson ragged the defense once again, is something special starting to happen there? Imo their keeper should have been sent off for shoving Price in the chest several times, he didn't even get booked, was that odd or have I lost the plot  Question

Will afc

If price went down when he was shoved then the keeper would be sent off

Didnt the keeper also do the foul for the penalty? .......and no card at all? I notice he got their vote for MoM.

Will afc

They prob felt sorry for him jools ,

Can I just congratulate Steve batemen , what a bloody good find our new young keeper had been , James w is the best keeper I've seen in goal for us in a long time ,
The young lad not phased by any thing , yesterday looked like he took an accidental elbow to the chin yesterday in 2nd half and he got straight back up, many others would of went down ,

Afc4life

Think Fraser needs to take the credit for the new keeper! He was with the club before Bateman arrived and was bought in by Fraser! Top coach!

Will afc

Oh sorry , well done Fraser

Sounds like you're blessed in the goalkeeper position. James Warrington is no mug I can assure you. Ironic both are JW's and around the same age.
Can't see James Warrington sticking around long, when he is back fit, if he doesn't get in the 1st eleven. He's too good to be a second string keeper in the Central division, that's for sure.

Will afc

Don't think James Warrington will be in goal any time soon , posted on twitter that he needs a MRI scan ,
I'd like to see him play though as I have heard great things about him, the manager will certainly have tough choice though once they are both match fit

James Weatherill was as has been said bought in by Fraser as I was reminded on Saturday in the bar by...... FRASER!!! LOL
