3 points at Northwood

glad to see after a poor start our season is now underway, 3 points at Northwood, well done guys!

anyone go last night, how was it?

Yes there were 10 of us there. We dominated the 1st half but gave away far too many free kicks just outside the pen area. Thankfully Northwood's free kick specialist was somewhat wayward. 2nd half was a bit different. We hang on virtually all the half with some poor defensive shows on offer. Good job Ben kept his head on numerous occasions snuffing out the majority of efforts. For a change it was us that stole the points and 2-0 flattered us although both goals were taken well with Monty tackling their keeper 5 yards into their half and smashing it in from the resulting tackle. Sometimes you have to win lucky and this was our time. Saying that we are looking fit and fresh and the desire to win is evident and very pleasing to see.

The win has been overdue and more likely in any of the previous games. Norwood were a good team, better than I expected, they gave our defence a good work out which is something I feel we have really needed, Ash was good in goal, seemed calm and composed and his distribution was very good. Like you say Pucky old bean "gave away far too many free kicks just outside the pen area" not sure how many were proper ones 'cos at times those officials were dreadful, but we dealt with them non the less. In the end a masterclass in substitutions had everyone beaming from ear to ear.

All this working away from home is making me miss these games! I was beaming from ear to ear walking around Manchester once the result had come in, well done lads!!

Manchester is a lovely place for a wander at 11, especially when walking back from a cinema lol

This time of year is a pain with FA Cup and Trophy games. Four points in a week but can't build on that momentum. Gotta love the cup though and the club get a little bit of loot for progress too, I think.
