well, the rose and crown, less than mile down the road towards the high street is owned by a 'Everards Brewery' (I've never tried it) so should be a decent ale pub.

The near to the ground pub, the railway vue, doesn't make any claim of beer quality on its own website, but perusing some of their photos on trip advisor shows Real ale and Craft Beers on a specials board behind the bar so they must have something good??

also, me too on the bus - football without fans cans is nothing
