I remember sneeking into the ground at turn furlong when I was 14 with a group of 6 of us, we used to stand behind the goal and sing and shout....shout to the other fan that was at the other end of the pitch. Oh they were fun days. Then United moved to Buckingham rd. Some good times, some good pre-seasons with an England XI, Chelsea and Watford ,then the great trip to QPR and the famous Duck walk. Then all the miss spent money on players that that were past it, then more mispent money on players that were past it and finally more mispent money on plaers that were past it, when all the time there were players right under the noses of the youth team coaches right here in the area.....Oh sorry that's right we didn't have a youth team by that stage, no under 18's no reserve team, a hand full of fans and no ground.
Looking at where Fc have come from, the old Stocklake to Aylesbury FC ( Mr Martone )they have invested well in the ground (okay it's not Buckingham rd but give it time)invested in the right people and buildig the right team behind the scene that get on and get the job done, One other thing that United lacked.
Lets face it United can not be a local team if they play in Chesham or Outer Mongolia or where ever they are playing this season. If that was the case The Dons would still be called WIMBLEDON.
So i willsupport our LOCAL team this season.
