FA Cup replay: AFC 2 - W&F 1

Just back from a good cup tie. Aylesbury took the lead in the 14th minute when Craig Henney scored, but that lasted only a minute as W&F equalised in the 15th minute. The pacy Nathan Graham made it 2-1 to Aylesbury in the 36th minute and gave us an athletic goal celebration to boot!!! Both teams had chances in the second half and Smithy made some good saves, not least from a wild kick from his own centre back that was screaming for the top centre of the net until he just finger-tipped it over. The last few minutes were nerve racking as they hit us with everything and extra time seemed to go on forever, but the defence held out, so it ended 2-1 to Aylesbury. Next round, home to Chesham United on saturday 10 October.

With all these cup games we have dropped to 4th in the league, but have played less games than those above us.

1 Dunstable Town, played 11, 23 points
2 Chalfont St Peter, played 11, 21 points
3 Colney Heath, played 9, 20 points
4 Aylesbury, played 7, 19 points (goal difference 13)
5 Royston Town, played 9, 19 points (goal difference 11)

fantastic stuff,best theyv played all season,everyone played really well but in my opinion Gareth Price was outstanding,(can we get him on a contract?)i think a mention for the managements tactics should be praised. well done all involved . bring on the cheese & ham

What a great game and a good advert for Non League football. What was the crowd by the way? To me it looked by a long way the biggest of the season.

There were more than 87 - Base on Prev crowds there had to be 150 there!!!!!

I agree with db gareth is a quality player .he played for our Risborough Rangers youth team which came runners up in the 1st div at u17 losing only one game and winning two cups.At u18 went the whole season unbeaten and won u18 cup again!a total of 31 games unbeaten,granted gareth was only one of a whole squad of great players and we keep tabs on how they are all doing wherever they play.Its good to know he is so well liked at aylesbury fc.

Scout, was Gareth Price called Gareth Aldridge earlier??? I am confused.

to eric the red and black,yes gareth was known as aldridge in his risborough/manderville school/berkhamstead days and chose to change when he joined afc.
